scalloped taters is what we always had with the left-over ham , as a meal ! never as a side. and I abhor rotten (algraten) taters.

Au-gratin and what is the difference ? I never made them

then why dont you like them ? no cheese ? I never had them. I did however find a whole bag of rotten potatoes in my cupboard about a week ago.
