That's a big decision to move back home, and it must feel good to have made it, even considering DDs situation. Although, it sounds like it was inevitable, just the timing to consider. The west coast will welcome you home!!

There is not much new going on around here. I am definitely feeling down lately. Nothing specific, just bleh, craving anything sugar, and little things bothering me more than usual. Having that nagging feeling that I should be doing this and that and more, but can't get motivated to do more than the minimum. It will pass. It always does.

On a happy note, we got a good amount of rain this week, the air is fresh, the trees are dust free, and the little vernal pools and small ponds are gradually filling. Looks like a real spring may be in the works. Tadpoles and early spring wildflowers are some of my favorite things, so looking forward to that.

Spring? You sure are optimists. We are in for Jan into Feb -10 with wind. I huddle under blankets and complain. lol

I had to back read to find the post about fencing. We were already planning to use the 2x4 welded wire and a hot wire for the chickens. That would still work for goats? The lady up the road uses 4x4 fencing and a hot wire and hers stay put.

4x2 with a hot wire would be good......

enola, she will be running a hot wire.

camping I'm assuming on the inside?  hot wire on the outside will not keep goats from standing on the wire.......in which case you'll need something stronger.

Both? :lau

well I know in a chicken run you do it to keep predators out........but with goats, you need a wire on the inside to keep the goats away from the fence.....but if you're already running one, it's easy to run a second......

funny little hen.....

There is s flock of robins in my pasture!!!!!

We have had robins here too, lately. They come for the pyracantha and cotoneaster berriers. For us, spring starts as soon as the rains come and grass starts growing! We call it winter, but by most standards, it is more like spring.

Yep - I'd run one on the inside to keep the goats off the fence and one on the outside to help discourage predators....put a good strong zap on it, too!
