14 yrs old and never had a party. it sounds bad but you dont miss what you never had and with 6 girls life was rough. I got the opportunity to go visit my father in a different state. I had never done that and was pretty excited about it.  My B day was in a few days and being typical kid I thought I would give it a try. I asked my dad if I could have a party. He said yes !!!  I hand made invitations and pasted them around. My sister was living there and had went to visit mom while I was there so I knew a few kids there.  The big day comes and no dad.  The kids show up and all leave one by one because there were no cake, balloons or anything else there should of been.  Then the bigger boy showed up. My sisters boyfriend . He was 18 I think.   This is the part where I remember hands hurting me and blood. I went to find my dad (we share the same birthday) and he was just down a few doors very drunk having his own kind of fun.  That was the end of me ever asking for anything again..  I did get my revenge about 30 yrs. later and it was sweet. But thats a different story.

Granny, so sorry to hear this birthday story of yours. Your farther should have been there to protect you from that rotten kid. I hope that over the years your birthdays have eventually got better. I want you to know how sorry I am that someone hurt you in that way. I know all to well what that can do to a person. Glad you got your revenge

LOL so then Lowes hires them as well. They do stink. Used to be the only reason I bought from sears was the warranted . No more.
