again to much money. Mother was FRUGAL to the max. And I get that they (parents) got their first kitchen table out of the dump and fixed it up. We lived in the grandparent's house on the farm while they lived in town. And Dad farmed for a percentage of the crop. Plus he worked in the oil field and mom worked part time as well.

that might have been it I do remember her opening the pot and stirring occasionally. don't remember any butter tho. but the rest sounds right. Would have to be a real low heat so you didn't scortch it
