Now let's talk about chicken math, and particularly how this disease has affected me.
As you all may or may not remember I got anxious and bought a cuckoo marans (Chicky) and a light brahma (Lightening Speed) the week before my other chicks were coming. I now also have a chocolate orpington (Puffy), a very sweet Olive egger (Elphaba) who is from GFF's rhodebar stock, so she will allegedly look like a rhodebar, a creme legbar (Ethel) who is miniscule and very friendly, and a surprise blue orpington who is my only straight run chick. I have named him Frank and I'm really, really hoping it's a female. We are all obsessed with Frank. Frank is still extremely fluffy at 2.5 weeks and never stops peeping. So I started out ordering 3 chicks and ended up with 6. I am keeping myself away from any place that has chicks, and have been browsing CL in my spare time looking at babies and thinking things like, you know, I could really use a Swedish flower hen and a couple of lavender ameraucanas. LOL
We've also been doing a major yard renovation that was supposed to be just one weekend, so naturally it's been 3 weeks and we're about half done.
Pretty much any spare moment I've had has been spent on the yard. Kids are all good, baby girl had a high fever for some reason a few days ago but it's gone now. Other than that we have been miraculously healthy.
We were supposed to have dinner with my MIL (I am not a fan of hers, that is a long story for another time) and the man she has decided to marry after knowing him for 5 months tonight, but (surprise surprise) she flaked. We already had child care so we had a date instead, and it was great.
