worry about bird flu. Its one state over now. My solution ? get a duck.  One that has been free ranging with geese , even better.

Bird virus goes around every year, but seems more widespread this year. Hopefully Flo will be fine. How are the Serama chicks? What color are they?

I'm doing OK, just got sat down for the day. Its crazy busy around here trying to another coop built to move the silkies & a few other birds into. I need to get the brooder coop vacant for chicks that are scheduled to hatch on Mothers Day. I am so exhausted and my back and hips are killing me. Going to see the neuro Dr at the end of this month to have more treatments done on my back or there will be no way for me to keep a large garden going, canning, stocking veggie stand and the never ending chicken chores.

Sounds like your have lots of pain as well. Wouldn't it be nice if we could wake up one morning and have no pain for the day. I can't remember a time without it

I've never heard of chicken swaps at our TSC. They barely carry chicken supplies. Ours is a old store that needs some serious updating.

they seem good. one is yellow and for the first time one is yellow and black. nothing from the other eggs. I will take a look when i go to bed .

I wouldnt know how to act pain free. Willing to give it a try though !!! drs. appt. tuesday with foot dr. have to be there at 8 am. I dont even know how to use this alarm clock here. I Think it will also be one yr. since Mom died on the 5th. maybe 6th.

Bator temp spiked to 105. Good thing I'm hand-turning or I wouldn't have checked before bed. Couldn't have been that high for more than a few hours. Hopefully they're fine. I bumped it down a hair, because it's so picky. But cooler is better than too hot overnight.

I started a log book for this hatch, so I can record temps and whatnot.
