What a week farming is tough , on a lighter note my darling wife ordered me 6 new pair of bib overalls and a new jacket for Valentine's I wore out all the others they were waiting on me when I got home I got me a wonderful wife

I just got home. Searched back through the thread- the first group of 8 Serama eggs were set on Jan 23. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks for the most advanced. If I candle, will I be able to see anything or should I leave them be? I guess if any are glowing that means not fertile, yes? Maybe I'll just look for glowing ones. Eggs have to be pretty tough to hatch here. Jealous broodies steal and fight for them, so I suppose a quick candle won't hurt, and I can add some more bedding.

I just realized, I could have chicks by next week! Oh my goodness! I'm hoping they can just do a big community raising of chicks. I got rid of the one psycho hen that killed a baby before.

glowing ? look at my jabber. it will show you what to look for on which day.
I have been messing with my bator. I enlarged the air holes and added a few more. plenty of air Im sure. Put the other egg turner in and now have slots for 73 eggs.

I added a light to the bottom that will keep temps more even. My bulb is too strong. Hoping I can pick a 15 watt up tomorrow. I took the heating element down and centered the fan a bit better so may not even need heat light bulb. If not I will use one that dont throw heat. Waiting for temps to stabilize now.
