I'm kind of a live and let live person. Kids needed to know what to do for the next time they encounter one. I make exceptions to the rule for those nasty black widows. We had one living on the mail box! They are very hard to kill too. Like Voldemort.

I would not let a rattler live where kids play. nope, nope , npoe ! leaving the last one to show you how dyslexic I am. LOL

Lil Twist is a messy boy ! He keeps scratching all the water out . it makes it stink ! He is 3 weeks and taller then the quart water dish. Does that sound right ? Him and Abby both are by an inch at least. I elevated the dish dont help he just jumps up and does it anyway. I have noticed a pattern in this. The ones I fed wet food to. They will scratch food and water out (wood floor) in hopes of it mixing and when it does they are rewarded with wet mash.

This was at a huge state park. Snakes, coyotes, wildcats are all up there, so hikers beware! There is also an observatory with several large telescopes. We sometimes volunteer on public viewing nights when all the campers walk over to take a look at the cosmos. It's beautiful in the spring. May take a trip up there this weekend. Google the images for Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. You can see what it's like around here!
