I googled and French Marans include the French Black copper and French Wheaton Marans.. both lay dark eggs.

Just like anything chicken, it takes careful breeding to get the really dark brown eggs. Hatchery Marans and Welsummers will lay darker than other breeds, but not the super dark. But still worth getting!

Cockroaches are kind of like beetles. They keep their wings hidden. Most winged insects have 2 pairs of wings. One pair has been turned into a protective shell that coveres the flying wings.
