Foliar feeding is a technique of feeding plants by applying liquid fertilizer directly to their leaves. Plants are able to absorb essential elements through their leaves. The absorption takes place through their stomata and also through their epidermis.
summed it up rather nicely. Can also be used for pest and disease control.

morning Red, raining here. better then snow . LOL  think I am going to hang in the house all day if I can get away with it.
I'm still in bed. Little rainy here too. Imma have to force myself up today. Guess my back has been knowing the last several days that rain was coming.

I bought the thornless blackberrys a few yrs back. the black fruit is so sweet !  I dug them up because I had planted them where the dogs potty and they fell apart into 15 plants I replanted and still came back up .  last summer I was out there picking them and ate a couple then decided I better go wash them. ants came out. Pretty gross bus still so good !  Thinking they were safe I ate a couple more then seen more ants in the bowl! where are these things hiding ? I let them soak in water 2xs and still more ants. I gave them to the chickens and stopped eating them anymore which sucks because they really are good.

I've eaten morel mushrooms one time in my life. We found them wild when we were hiking in a state park. :hide Anyway, we soaked them first and there were SO MANY things in there!

I eat all sorts of things from the garden. I'm not afraid of a few bugs. :D

Megan soaks all kinds of fruit in water with white vinegar in it. All kinds of things are swimming in the water......
that's why I don't bother soaking mine. If I don't see it, it's just extra protein. BlackBerries will cover the taste of all the bugs. Heck for all I know they might not be as good without the bugs juice lol.

A rose bush will revert back to a blackberry if the graft is damaged or planted too deep covering the graft in dirt.   I dug my thornless up came back from the root true and all the transplants came true. I just dont think you will have a problem with them but I dont know .
So a rose Bush is nothing but a BlackBerry Bush? I never knew that. You just taught me something granny.

Only if it's grafted. Right?

It's chilly here today. 57*, windy and damp. I was walking by the old coop and happened to see a hona chick in the run. It was huddled up but still felt warm in my hand, so must've just happened. I slipped it back through the barrier grate; gotta add hardware cloth today.

Yesterday I let the lone guinea cock out, so I had two penned and two loose. I locked the run all day. This morning I opened it and dropped in some leftover rice dressing to the penned pair first, then in the empty run. Fed the goats, came back and locked the second pair. So now I have two penned up pairs!! :weee

DH took the kids a couple of hours up north to visit our chicken friends and go to a birthday party. I'd like to say that I'm taking the opportunity, but instead I'm drinking coffee and watching Vikings. :D

My attitude has always been ok I am going to hurt anyway so I might as well be doing something and usually I get so intent/focused on what I am doing I forget the pain. But just sitting it hard to ignore. I spend a lot of time on my bottom while in the garden, easier for me to get stuff done and still be able to stand up or move when I am done.

I've got the wild kind in spades. EXTREMELY thorny, so not good for the campers. They pop up through the sand in the back yard no matter how many times I chop them down or pull them up. Think that will help or hinder? Or doesn't mean anything?
You have to dig out the roots or they just sprout back up. The birds will plant new ones for you every year, in tidy little packages of fertilizer. Dig out new ones asap, before they get established. If I don't dig them out, it takes 2-3 years of consistently cutting back to the ground (monthly or even weekly during growing season) to kill the roots. It's a constant battle.

well, I have 9 plants I wont be using they could be separated again too. (some died) accidentally, by the lawn mower.
Try enola's idea about rinsing with vinegar. You can kill off the ant colony making a bait with boric acid. I can send you some, if you want to try. Nothing much better than blackberry syrup, which is so easy to make, it's almost like not cooking!
