Hi everyone, just stopping in to say hi & good night. Have been reading, but still not feeling good. This head cold is driving me nuts. I'm either sneezing or blowing or both lol. Sinus have been on fire since last week. Hurts just to have my glasses on my nose. Lots of eggciting stuff going on here. Congrats granny on all the little babies. Red, good luck for you day 7 candle. I've got 12 eggs in lock down on day 19. Next batch goes into lockdown on Friday. Congrats Camping for scoring all those eggs. I have 11 Bielefelder's in the incubator right now. Had to remove one tonight because it was leaking a little fluid. Wasn't about to risk a full turner of eggs for one. Enola, sure hope you & your daughter can find a house in the country. Linda, hope you & Devin have a great day away. Everyone needs those now & then. Looks like everyone had great meals yesterday for Easter. We had a real low key day because I was not feeling well & our SIL to be & dd spent the evening at the ER because sil to be had kidney stones. I off to bed, hoping I feel more human tomorrow. Sweet dreams & :hugs

Ohhhh get better soon Lisa!!! Xoxoxo

Devin was quite disappointed in my dinner tonight. Kind of bummed but I can't do anything about it.
I feel ya!

That's a huge part of why I don't like cooking. Too much responsibility for other people's happiness.

I take it personally. Feel like a failure if no one likes it, and then I kinda get mad. a little. bit. lots. And I go on strike like you did before!

Wednesday. LOOK! The grapefruit bloomed while I was gone! Front porch smells SO GOOD.

Mine is blooming right now too. The whole yard smells wonderful. They say smells are one of the strongest memory triggers. Citrus flowers send me right back to my grandfather's garden in southern California. Pure bliss.

I'm getting nervous now even though everything seems to be going good. Temp stays on 100 and spikes once a day to 102. Humidity has ranged between 25and 35 for the most part. Does that sound fine?

How long does it stay at 102? I have no experience incubating, but I have read that high temps are more dangerous than low. The hen gets off the nest everyday, so cooling down a little bit is natural. But if you measure the temp of an egg under a broody, the top of the egg against her skin can be 104+ but the bottom of the same egg will be 95. So it seems at least part of the egg can handle higher temps. I guess if it doesn't stay 102 for long, the embryo can handle it. This is all very interesting for a science geek.
