Sounds like your GS has a great interest in the chickens and him seeing it getting the chop is good for them I think. All kids should know where food comes from and that they have to be killed to be eaten. Good on him granny, maybe a surgeon for the future with him wanting to know all the parts!!

I read in the newspaper the other day about some city kids who went to the country side, they were on a walk and got chased by some sheep and thought they were wild animals!! They got lost on a hill top after running away from them and had to be rescued. Very sad that the poor kids had never seen animals out in the country side before.

It's 12:30 pm. All night long I dreamed about poultry predators.

Just like me!! I have the most bizarre dreams ever Have had loads about foxes taking my birds and I hate the feeling when you wake up and your not sure what is reality and what is not!! Some nights I'm very bad, shout, cry and kick out!! No wonder the other half does not sleep well with me going crazy!!

OH MY GOSH ONE OF MY ROCKS JUST SQUATTED FOR ME!!!

I am way to egg-cited by this. Yes I baby talked the crap out of her and she got some scratch right out of my hand....what a good girl!!!!

Haven't noticed any egg song practicing yet but...

My rocks seem to be the first to mature anyway, they've got their combs and...wattles? Those gobbly bits? Lol. One of my reds is also developing but not as far along...the marans, other red, and Amuricana seem a bit slower to mature. But that's fine.

nugget is appearing more and more roosterish. The comb is already getting pink...he's only a few weeks old. I'll wait until he crows or lays for final judgement though. If he's a noisy one I'll have to re home him though.
