Is there a standard height for roost bars ?

hi star. they are cute. that one is a meany.

They tend to want to go as high as they can. If you do set up a roost, you will probably want to throw some feed bags over the rafters to keep them from going up there. Roost can go on a diagonal.

how many eggs altogether  ?

9 so far, goi g to take done the hatched out in a few hours and have a look what's what with the others.

Sooo how much do polish eggs go for anyway?

These ones were £3 each I'm not sure what the exchange rate is right now, will have look.

Yeah that guy (or gal!) is a bit of a jerk! ;)

(Hey hubs can watch videos when we aren't on wifi I can watch a single one minute chickie video!)

It is, all quiet right now in there!!

Do they lay in the nest boxes? Maybe a roost a bit higher than the boxes so they don't start roosting there, or sleeping in them. Makes a mess.

If you have some cord/rope, you could nail one end of 2x4 on top of nest boxes, and hang the other end from the rafter.

the nest box is directly under the rafters.

out of how many ?? I dont remember .

I've just quickly moved 7 dry ones to the brooder. Left two damp ones in there and checked remaining eggs.

3 are pipped and 2 showing no signs yet. Didn't candle as I didn't want the lid of too long. Will get some pics when they come out from under the brooder, they scampered straight under it!!

14/16 made it to lockdown. Had one clear at day 7 candle and one quit between days 14 & 18.

You always have great hatches York. You will have a great start of them ...

Quote: Have you been to Yosemite yet? It's really pretty amazing. If you don't have reservations, it might be hard to get a space. Still early in the season though, and would be very beautiful with the snow. Then you could stop at Attimus' restaurant in Mariposa on your way out south of the park.

Worth seeing at least once.
