Hello all: Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!!! Mine went ok other then forgot to turn the oven down on one of the pies. Guess what a pumpkin pie looks like after being in a 450 oven for 50 minutes. Sent it out for the chickens but one of the renters on the farm took it and ate it said was good after you cut the black parts off.
Took my left over gravy, extra stock, raw cream, turkey , and some dressing, and frozen carrots (home done of course) plopped it all in a kettle stirred up and ladled into baking dishes then popped into freezer will pull out latter and put a crust on calling it thanksgiving pot pie. Hope it works. One of the best things about chickens no waste they eat my rejects.
GREAT NEWS little Lu is preggers. nothing but a walking stomach right now I get up and she races me to kitchen hoping for eggs or anything that might drop to the floor. She was in season sometime in Oct but not sure when. Pups sometime before Christmas. I have such good catholic dogs. 2 nd Christmas/advent batch. One on Easter Sunday and one holy week. Guess that Missalette ( the lesbian dog, lu's older sis, and official interuptor of lu and yuri making babies) was snoozing. she is the one who will let Yuri get on but the moment anything starts to happen she is nothing but fangs and snarls. Have one lady (former guest at motel) driving up from Ohio for a puppy. Have to call the vet tomorrow and find out what they charge for toes & tails , might be doing the docking myself , thinking toenail clippers for the dew claws, and glowing hot knife for the tails. The one vet won't do "unnecessary surgeries" but alas AKC requires the tails to be docked. Removing dew claws is just common sense to me. Toes and tail usually done on day 2 after the birth. Blood circulation and nerves not so active or working well yet. Honestly they (pups) scream more when pulled of mom's dinner plates then when the toes and tails are removed. My old (now retired) vet did them for 10.00 per pup and then I got a 10% breeders discount so actually cost me 9.00 these things do affect the price of the pup. Lu is 5 years old and first litter. lu is short for alleluia (registered name) or with me short for Lucifer depending on what she has been up to. Definitely Lucifer when I caught her and Missalette playing tug of war with a farm kitten. then Yuri ran over and ate the head. UFFDA !!!!!!! about did me in. Now I can't figure out how to get rid of the underlining
