thank you kat, I will try that when i get a new one.  mine kinda found its way to the garbage . LOL I have never seen or even heard of a crock pot liner, I have to look that up. sounds nice. my last one went as a heated water for the chickens 2 yrs. ago. this one went to the garbage. I hurt my wrist trying to scrub with the brillo. tell you what i dont understand, why am i so fat ! ??? for a girl that never gets to eat i sure am up there.  I like to think its one of those big puffed bellys from starvation i am seeing but no, its fat.   still just the one chick so far but i am hearing another. temp 3 wind chill -8. house is 64. might have something to do with it. LOL  so, the eggs that came from MT., seramas he sent 8. they stayed in freezing temps for 3 days because of holiday, I see 2 spiders and one possible or blood ring. very early but i am amazed. he really took his time packing them and did a great job. he is member jessshan and he sent them for free including shipping.  another member on here gave me the serama trio she is , well i have to go look for her name she uses on here. she is on the serama thread. something like jmcg ? from Louisville KY . and that was 150 miles round trip . I thought it was 125 but i looked wrong.  Candy, chickens, eggs. I am a little overwhelmed at the kindness .  never had anything give to me before and people on here just open their hearts . I said this when i first joined this site, said when i reached 1000 posts and will say it again. When i joined BYC it felt like i had come home. It still is true today.

you know, so much crazy stuff happens to me that what you said just kinda went right over my head. The cat jumping on your head ! hahahaa Think i would of taught that cat how to fish ! 

Lol but she's purring so nice when she jumps on me. A little after 5 again this morning I wish she would at least wait till six.

did i tell you guys i made a roast in the crock pot? put it on low and let it cook all night and half the day. it was one of those things that come with the potatoes, carrots onion. flavor packet. any way. I made tom a plate and as i am making mine he yells ouch ! theres a bone in it !! it was boneless I go and take a look and its not bone , its the meat itself. I guess it stuck to the side of the pot and burned. and a potato too. my crock pot is ruined. been scrubbing it for 2 days now. 

Yea I think it's safe to say that's to long Granny lol

Saw your cookie recipe there granny just picturing you with a hand like a puppet huge from the cookie dough. Woke up to a snow drift in my bedroom. No wonder I slept so well. Still no checks in the mail so the 2 males may be back on the market.

Hey granny, you wanna know a good way to fix boredom in your chickens. I started their day by bringing them a warm bowl of water to drink, little stinkers are not wanting to leave the coop to get water. Next I returned to the house and made 2 lbs of oatmeal in which I added their wormer in. They absolutely loved that, so I thought since I was so nice that it might be time to stir them up a bit. Went back to the house to get the warm jar of Vasoline and chased 26 birds around the coop to get their combs & wattles coated. By this time they were getting pretty P.O. Never a better time to dust them then. Ha ha they weren't laughing, but I did manage to catch them all. The only problem I had was when I went to dust my Buff Orphington who was sitting in a nest box. She growled at me which she does on most occasions when she's on the nest. With the cold weather a few of my girls are wanting to hang out longer in the nest box and she had been in there for hours. So I reached under her to get the egg I knew she had already layed and what do I find?? A very, very bare underside is staring back at me. She never even bothered to tell me that she was interested in being broody. It does explain why this big fluff ball had not been venturing out of the coop much in these freezing temps. I left her with a couple of eggs, will see if she stays on them. If I find her still there tonight I will rig up a dog kennel for her in the coop. That way she can still see her roo. No boredom in my coop today, lol.

Well I guess the jokes on me, just went out to check on my gal I thought was broody and it seems if she forgot to tell herself that news. She was sitting on 4 eggs and when I got out there, she was on the ground chit chatting with the ladys. 2 more birds had layed in the box after she got off. All the eggs were starting to chill. Can't for the life of me understand why she would have plucked all her underside feathers if she wasn't going to be broody. It's a little chilly here to be running around half dresses, lol.

thank you for the complement chickenlady. suzierd, I thought you could cook in crockpots as long as you wanted to and not burn because they are sealed. oh well, today was tv dinner. yum. slept half the day away. just got done w/ the chickens even my cookie tin heater failed me. I gave the barn cat some fresh water and by the time i finished the chickens it had froze . Twisted, that is exactly what my hand looked like. cookie monster gone horrible wrong. mutant cookie monster. snow in your bedroom ? better then chickens. I am able to take them back out saturday. there is feathers in my room already. that cant be healthy. I know a few keep them for house pets but i doubt they breath that all night.
