Some fresh doughnuts would be good. We have a small bakery here that has croissants that taste like donuts, they even fill them with cherry, chocolate, lemon, apple,cream, etc. and they are to die for. I'm trying to loose some weight, but maybe just one wouldn't hurt, but it is so hard to stop with just one.

Stay warm and safe and hopefully they can get moved soon.

DW finally made up the ginger bread cookies. The dough has been made for days. To late for me to want any though. The house smells nice.

Anyone else watching the British Baking contest on pbs? They had to make donuts. Yummy.

All this talk of donuts finally got to me, so #2 son and I made the next best thing- rice crispy treats! With mini chocolate chips. Mmmmm. Only took about 10 minutes and the pan is over half gone already. Put a serious dent in the donut cravings.

The best place near us for good donuts is a seedy little place run by 3 Chinese ladies. The place is packed every morning with locals looking for a good cup of coffee and a scrumptious donut. It's the Anti-Starbucks!

They also serve basic breakfasts and simple lunch items including some stir fry dishes. My favorite is the glazed buttermilk old fashioned.

Haven't made rice crispy treats in a while. Don't the chocolate chips melt? Well, if they do, I guess you have chocolate crispies. Need to put marshmellows and rice crispies on my grocery list.

I have never made rice crispy treats. I have ate them though. store bought ones. I much rather have fudge and if i am forced into the torture chamber for anything it would be that. mama just dont cook. no matter how hungry i get, I will shovel the snow and take my chances to get to a restaurant before i cook. Morning everyone. schools closed again. so i wont be going out to get my chicks today i guess. My daughter cooks every day. whole meals too. last night it was fried pork chops, mashed and veggies. I have to wonder where she learned all this from. Its not something i would of ever taught her. LOL . Her husband only knows how to scramble eggs, not even fried . me thinks she slipped into a cooking school somewhere.

Donuts I can resist (unless they are covered in maple icing), but warm gooey cinnabuns - not so much.

Finished the second round of worm meds yesterday, one more to go on Friday. The worst part is withholding food for 24 hours.

I've got 31 chickens ordered and have to whittle the list down to under 10... Wish me luck!

Wow, it is beautiful here this morning! Winter storm Olivia dumped 1/2 inch ice on all of Laurens County South Carolina. Everything has icicles hanging from it. The sun has come out twice and when it shines on the icicles sparkle like millions upon millions of diamonds. My car is entombed in ice, Mike's truck grill has grown teeth! And my horse trailer looks like an armored vehiclr deign went bad. I sure wish I could post pictures.......

I am on vacation so, I don't have to worry about getting to work. But, I sure do hope it gets above freezing later today. I am out of coffee ...... That is an emergency ....... Oh and only have enough chicken feed for 2 days.......

how do you whittle from 31 to 10 ? shoot keep them all ! I have seen ice storms here and they are beautiful. can you do pics. Enola?
