I dont know if i should laugh or cry. definitely traumatized. For those of you that dont know what a possum stomping party is (like me) , I will tell you.I have 3 barn cats, one of them a sneaky little Siamese . I was in the barn feeding the chicks (where i found my dead EEs a week ago) and the cat was rubbing up against my legs. absent minded as normal, I reached down to pet him only it was NOT him. yup, a possum !  right between my legs:eek:  For once i just wish something like that would happen when i dont have eggs in my hand. may they RIP. My husband came outside, I dont know how he knew ? all the screaming maybe? He picked up a stick and i said "dont you dare" even playing dead it would be faster then him .you know, if we needed to run or something.  So i called my friend and she hollers to her husband,"possum stomping party!" and "we are on our way" .  So , here i am thinking the house isnt clean, what am i going to serve, this is short notice for a party. LOL  Well, my friends,  A possum stomping is exactly what it says and I am delightfully disgusted.

Granny, did they wear their big boots?

Your chickens will be much safer. I haven't seen a possum around here in a couple of years. Not even a road kill one.

Nice flock, Jackschicks. Love the silver EEs.

well, I aint never seen anything like it. yes, he had his work boots on. I thought they were pulling my leg right up til splat time ! I swear, I aint never gonna have no eggs.

Good question -- I don't know what kind of rooster he is--some kind of barnyard mutt. You guys would be better breed identifiers than me. Whatever he is, he is very impressed with himself and thinks he is king of the world. He is a big guy and a very good husband and protector of his girls. Whenever there is some kind of food or a bug, he calls his
girls and lets them eat first. He has run

off the hawks on 2 separate occasions. I wish I'd had him when the dogs attack happened, I think it would have made a difference.

Welcome Jacks' . sincerely hope that you (granny) did NOT do any stomping with you bad foot. Not sure what the posseum had to do with the dead chicks please enlighten. And not with your pornographic lamp either.

Flipping BYC doing it again.

NIght all sweet dreams and warm fuzzies.

P.S> Motel drama today. Girls go to clean a room and find a "pipe" and sirgenges (needles with plungers) so call the cops. Cop with drug dog shows up info on the renter goes to room collects the items and then leaves. Dog never got out of car. So the idiot's that I had to take to court to evict told the judge they had no heat maybe that's because they disconnected the wires from the thermostate and lost them down the wall.

oh yes, I believe the possum had every thing to do with the EEs death. even though it couldnt physically touch them. the were huddled as far in the back as they could get piled on top of each other. It kept them back there til they either froze or scared (shock) them to death. I have seen that with my own eyes with a cat and parakeet. cat was staring at it for half hr. then it just fell over dead. I didnt do any stomping. I was the one in the background next to the door doing the squealing . fell AGAIN last night. nothing hurt this time but my pride. some thing wrong with my foot. its just not healed yet maybe. Twisted, sounds like you have all the wrong clientele . Raise the rates and do a background check.
