Gs just brought me a dead bird in. had a wet nose ? I gave them meds. few days ago til today. May not need to worry about winter. This is the 2nd. unexplained death. Its not crd or i guess i should say, its not like before. I have decided not to rehome the seramas in the house just to be on the safe side. they havent been exposed to the others except as eggs but some had hatched out there. ever though i pulled them as soon as they hatched , I dont know what this is. I wish i was stronger. I would cull them all. I just cant. I look at those little serama frizzle girls and my heart just melts. they stay side by side no matter what. they sat eggs together. they are both very friendly and beautiful. One seemed tired for a day , droopy. her sister sat with her all day. she is fine now. I have never seen a bond like that with sisters except for humans.
 
Sorry about the sick birds. We had our first predator death, well actually disappearance, yesterday. One of my two bantam cochins.

Such a sweet girl. The one left is looking for her sister and keeps hollering. I can hear her right now. It doesn't help that the bantams are being kept locked up since I suspect a fox. They will just have to get used it.

Pretty quiet today. somebody farted ? I need some cash. cant sell chickens , cant sell kids . throw me some ideas for about 200 bucks .
 
I was talking to my son about the chickens and he said why dont i seperate the ones i want to keep from those i dont. Then let them free range and dont lock them up at night. He says predators will take them in their sleep and they wont know what hit them. I have heard they go into a coma like state but wouldnt that wake them ? Would that be a bad death ?
 
ming, antibiotics in the eggs right now. danna , good idea ! tons of junk this collector dont need. GS has to go home today . I guess they miss him or something. LOL I could try and give it a go.
