night enola. silkies are sweet little pets or broody mamas. they really are for show i think. very funny to pay to see a furry chicken but thinking back to being little and at a circus with my dad, I might of paid that. LOL I remember the bearded lady, the half man half something. I think the bearded lady put a curse on me.

I agree, I have a great poultry vet near me, I edited my original post to reflect that. But at the end of the day, it's her decision and her hen. If it is worms, de=-wormers are hard to find over here - you have to be licensed. That's why every six months I make the two hour drive to Happy chicks and get de-wormer in the form of medicated feed. I'm looking forward to Pear Tree Poultry being licensed so I can make my journey shorter.

talking of snakes . I went swimming a couple times when i lived in FL. 2nd time i kept hearing plop,plop.. I was swimming with water moccasins. I really dont know how i got grown.

Went fishing with ex FIL using his favorite cane pole. we both got a strike at the same time and we both caught an eel. Mine went back in the water along with his pole, he took his home and ate it.

Pretty sure that was the last time he took me w/ him.

Yes, Yorkshire sells them however we are a county away and I'm not prepared to make that drive. I already have to drive 1 and a half hours to get there. I'm in Lancashire, she's in Yorkshire :

Not sure, I haven't looked but I'd take an educated guess that they are regulated too.

I have called the vet and she ordered meds for me but there is no chicken vets around me. In this part of the country if they are sick they get ate . I cant say I would take one to the vet because the cost would be outrageous. I would have to try myself with help here (and i do) or cull it.

My hens are pets, I wouldn't get them xrayed or anything over the top but when my hen Babs was attacked by a fox, he gave her antibiotics and and made sure she was comfortable and had a decent chance at recovery. She broke two-three toes and still has scar tissue on her chest but she is fine now and the only cost was the antibiotics.
