Think I have got caught up on everything here. Have not been on much this last couple of days. The horse that was my Harry horses field companion had to be put to sleep this morning :hit He was 28 and very arthritic and got down and just could not get back up again. No strength in his back end at all. Tried all day yesterday to get him on his feet but in the end he had just given up you could see it in his eyes. Colic had started too this morning when the vet came and he had a very elevated heart rate. I've looked after him pretty much as my own over the last couple of years so it's a very sad loss. Harry horse is upset too, screamed his head off when I fetched him in this afternoon to ride and his buddy was not there. I am bribing him in the field with hay to keep him quiet even though he can see others around him. Much more settled out in the field though.

Set 34 eggs today, 11 polish or "apple spitzer" mixes , all LF.

The school bus stopped today and all 4 of the little ones came piling off . Then the older one calls and says, Im stuck at school, can you come get me ?  So I woke Tom up and told him your never too old and off i went.  Mom just now picked them up. 2 stayed here.
:woot woot, granny's went and did it again

Sorry to hear that Yorkshire. Never easy...and never easy for the horses to loose a buddy either. But it sounds like he had a good long life.

Anyone know any kind of weed killer that's safe for use around chickens? I have a heck of a "goat head" problem - the grounds too hard that ripping them up doesn't work since I can't get to the roots...(even with my little diggy tool) and I'm honestly contemplating finding myself some napalm lol.

And they're a weed with nasty icky burrs that get stuck in dog's paws and my runners. Hence the napalm. Lol.

that dont work any more. he has better then 20-20 vision, better then normal hearing.   I think deficits in other areas are made up for in other ways,  problem solving is excellent  . way above average.  but He dont know he just peed you off by telling you your hair is dirty or your over weight.  No clue that you are upset and wouldnt understand why you would be if you told him. He is just stating facts.

"Just stating facts". . . .

I have that problem, too! Causes people at work to think I am arrogant and have a big mouth!

Imagine that!! ?? And I am supposed to be normal. . .

york, I am so very sorry, what a great lose.

star, wont the chickens keep the weeds knocked down ? weed whip them very short then add corn and chickens.

So frustrated with BYC the last couple of days. I write a big long post and it either won't post it or it acts like its going to, clears the scene, then when it comes up, no message & it has logged me out

Really sorry Yorkshire about Harry horses companion. Animals squeeze into our hearts & become one of the family. May he rest in peace & Godspeed in healing your broken heart. :hugs
