The neighbor's fence being to "close" to the road is ok because his is all metal t posts which would bend over if some one went off the road. But I guess wood posts can do more damage/cause more issues if someone hits them.

evidently but then seems to fit with current American ideology that it is never your fault always someone else's and your aren't responsible for your own actions.

aint that something wishing ? look up the law. I believe it should be like 18 inches from the road. City always has a right-of-way but thats all it is a right not an ownership. He dont want the fence there I would change the posts and saw the wood down. I wouldnt move it just to make him mad. do a double fence if you have to.

You are supposed to be 33 feet from the middle of the road but the road goes every which way and you sort of need a straight fence for strength and stability.

I should be able to just pull the fence posts and recycle other then the one cemented At least the can't make me pull the railroad tie sucker rod part of the fence. Also wouldn't you think that the county would then have to have all the street signs and all mailboxes 33 feet from middle of the road as well??

2 lane gravel and mud. border line minimum maintance road. They don't plow it in the winter.
