that first pic of campings with the black hen, copper around the neck. is that the maran ? If so I got a good deal on those babies i bought for a buck each ! already cleaned one roo still have one and 3 hens that look like that but not as much copper. not grown yet either.

Good one granny! Spent time catching up nearly 10.00am .Time to go do something before those knocks on the door at 3.05 pm. The school is across the road and 2 houses down.Doesn't take long for them to get here! Sorry about your pain Granny.Hubby has been cutting down trees too.We have an open fireplace so can burn them.

mine wont burn for a while, Its green. it was about 35ft. tall and about as wide. Not too big. trunk about as big hmm... half a telephone pole. It was loaded with those wasps like the one that got me. ants falling all over me because my saw has a bad vibration. It had some type of canker.

Yes, granny. French black copper marans. She went broody twice this year. That pic is her second clutch. The raccoon got her, and two babies. The light brahma is the only one left.

She's was a really goofy thing, and I miss her.

I slept in late today and DD sent a message about a hen. So we got in the car and now I have a buff frizzle. The guy was getting rid of her because she had just started to set. If she stays hunkered down I will give her a few eggs. The guy has another frizzle hen that he is going to call about as soon as she starts setting. I keep thinking about hatching a few quail eggs. And my friend is bringing 2 dozen RIR X leghorn eggs to incubate for her.
