Hi granny, I'm going to say Ginger, Greta or Lily for her name. Hope all is going well with her. Too bad that someone abused her

very eggcited about my pip !  I dont even have a cage ready. 90 degrees out and I have to move chicks and clean.  SIL just came in and  said he had some bad news. Something is dead on my car. I am worring is it my cat ? h said, I dont know but you dont want to see it I will clean it for you.  I followed him out and he keeps saying, you really dont want to see this pam, its really bad. so I walk up even more worried and its rabbit guts ! :lau He is trying to pick it up with a bag and is gagging and I started cracking up. he was holding the bag as far away as his arm would allow.   I really wish he was around when I was cleaning chickens.
Granny that would be too funny, he probably would pass out. Sorry to read that GS wasn't truthful with you again, especially in this heat. Plus you don't have the extra money for other critters to be eating your chicken feed.

How many eggs are pipped granny. My 2 little Silkie eggs will be 14 days tomorrow. The first time momma is doing awesome. Really wish it wasn't so hot for her right now though.

When we first got Sugar, she found a fishing lure in the back yard. She got it stuck in her bottom lip. I said we can get this out. I was going to cut the hook with wire cutters and back the hook out. It tried and Sugar started whimpering. Mike said we have to take to the vet!! So we did. He was going to stay in the waiting room...... The vet decided to cut the hook and back the hook out, then give her a rabies shot. I was holding her and the vet reached for the hook with wire cutters..... Sugar started SCREAMING. All of the sudden Mike comes busting throughthe door and is horrified that the vet is doing it without anesthesia!!!

$200 later for anesthesia, surgery and tetnus shot, Sugar comes home with a swollen spot on her lip......

I am sure if Mike saw rabbit guts on his truck, he would probably pass out!!......

Electric is back on. Good thing they are getting feathered.

My friend has a brindle named Spooky. She was a rescue & had been abused. She was very timid but is a really really nice girl now. So add that name for me.

We had a chicken death in the camp tractor over the summer. The staff came to me and very gently explained to me what had happened, and asked how I wanted them to handle it.

All jaws hit the floor when I said "Take it out past the burn pile and pitch it in the woods." They were all staring at me and I just shrugged and said "They aren't pets. They die, all the time."

I have this reputation as the crazy tree-hugging animal lover. So maybe they were expecting a funeral...?
