It's starting to cool down here too. Our frost date is Oct 10.

My son's birthday is Sept 18 and stepson's is the 25th. Popular month. I've only found one person with my day Nov 24. I had 2 parties when I was a little kid. I bake cakes too. No one should have to go without a birthday cake. I won't be able to make my sticky buns for a while.

We have been close to frosts some night here already. Last couple of days have been nice though, not too hot and not too cold but rain is forecast again for this weekend. We have one heat wave all summer and that's been it, a really poor summer it has been.

We had lots of rain in the spring. I have raised beds. It was flooded 6 inches in the paths all around. We had a small flood twice and I had to rescue my stupid chickens who were hiding under the patio table. Did I mention it was a flood? Silkies can't swim. They did manage to stay in a group and I crawled on my hands and knees in the mud to get them. I fell as I was duck-walking back out with all 4 of them in my arms. Rain was pouring down. I was wet, muddy and had chicken crap on me too. I sat there in a river and laughed like a lunatic. Ungrateful wretches! Lol

What silly silkies, they sound just like my polish!! When it rains it certainly pours doesn't it. And when you were trying to rescue them too.

I think she made it with sugar stuff. She had sheets of the different coloured icing and made it from that.
