I can handle all the icky stuff on a baby or a kid, but for some reason, not as well for older or elderly people. I think it has to do with being uncomfortable invading their personal space, feeling like I'm taking their dignity. When my mom was dying, my sis and I made a good team, because I could NOT help with potty chores (enemas too) but was good with all the other comfort stuff, like washing and helping brush teeth. My sis was opposite- the thought of washing mom's face made her fall apart, but the other end didn't bother her at all.

I made a video of Emily.

Yay! She's doing better. I had a hen that went lame, never figured out why. Took her about 6 months to get back to normal. She stayed out in the coop the whole time. I had to help her off the roost in the mornings (only for a few weeks) until she figured how to do it using one leg.

My little wheezing Serama is still in the garage wheezing away. She is getting better, less gurgles and no more sneezes. No appetite though, so I will give her some cooked egg and assorted goodies. She misses her flock and is scared of me. One of the "wild ones" that was raised by the broodies.

I can eat a sandwich while cleaning a gut shot deer, hock a luggy chew it up and spit it out or someone else do it, change any diapers big or small, dig sprinters out with a knife or needle, watch people pick their nose and eat it and pretty much anything else. But when it time for me to get a shot, you'll have to catch my crooked running, crippled up a.. Terrified of those things. My mom and step dad had to catch me and hold me down to check my blood. This happened last year. I'd rather be hit in the face with a bat. Trust me. I know what both feel like and I'll take the bat.

OMG you people start early in the am. LOL

Camping congrats to you and Emily. I love how she growls/coos at you over the food. Of course if it was a dog they'd have to get smacked. Dog protective of food and kids not a good combo.

So the dog's (all 4) had to go with me to the grocery store this am. I drive down the road with 4 heads hanging out the window. People point, stare, and smile or laugh. I am hoping its because of the dogs.

She's just being chatty. When I first see her every day she runs to the kennel door and makes those sounds. Today she does seen a little hoarse. But I was running they dryer, so Mayberry her throat was drying from the dust.

I'm like you, in that I do not tolerate a growling dog. Sometimes they would try to squabble over food and I would jump in between them and stand kind of crouched and they'd each back off. They knew I was the HBIC. :lau

Of course it's way less complicated with one. I'm still talking to DH about that lab, though. :fl
