Mutt, my clogged arteries are the reason I had a heart attack a month ago. I have a stent now. It was 95% blocked. 1 artery in my neck is 100% clogged.

This might not be helpful at all to you in ID granny, but I feed regular layer, supplement with alfalfa hay. We have no forage, can't feed corn (scratch) in the summer due to the heat. I keep a flake of blue flower alfalfa in the run. Dunno if you can get baled alfalfa, but it's high protein and calcium. I throw rolled horse oats too. Dirt cheap, lower protein. Just saying what I do. Maybe Two Crows will thumbs up or down?X2 Too much corn can compromise their health. Add to a fatty liver, less eggs and weak immune system. You would be better off adding a supplement that has more protein as well. They won't need to eat as much food and will be getting more vitamins and minerals that way.
What king of feed do you ferment Jane. The one time I tried it with crumble it just became a slurpy stinky mess.
