That sure would break your heart! I swear I can still smell my Aunt Mary's milk barn. Does that ever happen to you? Something just triggers it? It's like a big hug to me.

yes it does happen..when we built our screened porch on the same property where my granny lived..it had the same smell.must have been all the trees but it was a good feeling...

I just put my heater in the coop this afternoon. I have a radiant oil heater (the stand up type that look like an old radiator) they are nice. Totally safe and has a "snowflake" setting that turns on at 34o and back off at 40o. I don't turn it on unless the night time temps are to drop below 20o. (we do hit as low as -35o a time or two each winter) and the girls do just fine, never had a single frost bit comb, but I have a draft free, heavily insulated coop with south facing double pane windows. On cold days they usually spend their days dustbathing in the greenhouse.

hi guys, been in the torture chamber.

smoke hanging out of my mouth, croc. tears running down my poor little cheeks. Son comes in and says "OHH your making chocolate chip cookies ?" I said Nope, that one fell in the floor. eat up. after i made dinner they decided they liked seeing me in there . son wouldnt eat it and talked me into microwaving something for him, DH wants to know when I am going to make that roll of cookie dough and then son is hollering brownies.

get er done !!! so GS has cookies on one side of him brownies on the other and askes me for ice cream. LOL why not. he then wanted to know whos birthday it was and stated he is never going home. I got news for that little brat. he is going tomorrow. mama misses him.
