Question about eating deer:  Are bucks good to eat?  Are they good to eat during rut?  In CA, you can only hunt bucks.  Does are not taken.  I had venison once when I was a kid and thought it was really strong tasting, not so great.
Wishing I've had even doe that tasted to gamey to me. In my opinion, it's all in the processing. I process my own. I gut it asap, skin it, quarter it, remove tenderloin, and back straps. Wash it in cold water and I have a refrigerator that I modified to hang the meat in. I have used a big cooler and iced it down. That takes away some of the flavor though. Processers around here only let it hang for about three to five days. A lot of people think I'm nuts but I've let mine age in 38 degree temp for 2 weeks. If you know how to cook good steak, if you cook dear steak, you'll a ways chose deer. Some people just cut the deletion and through it in a pan without aging. I don't like it that way. I can cook a buck that was in rut, and doe that wasn't, and cant tell the difference.

Here's my polish.

Absolutely beautiful newfie.

Soak it overnight in salt water- brine before cooking. It makes it tender too.
A lot of people soak it and if cooked right it's delicious. I also forgot to tell you before I vacuum seal the bags for the freezer, I debone mine and give it another good was making sure that there's no silver skin that I need to cut off and no hair at all left on it. I don't soak mine in salt. I do tenderize it with the mallet and meat tenderizer. Then salt, pepper or what ever else you like to use. Then I work some italian dressing into it real good and put it in the fridge for two days before grilling. It make great steak with no gristle between your teeth. Bi fat to chew on. Great now I want deer steak and need to take one soon. Hope I feel better in the morning and it's not raining. If that happens I will be cleaning a deer by eleven o'clock tomorrow morning.

I have 12 pullets and i m hoping that 2 of them will lay green or blue eggs. Hen was EE that layed green eggs and roo was WLH. Pullets look like mom but with white ear lobes. Also have 2 pullets that are BO roo X EE. They maybe will lay green eggs.
