:hugs Have you told them that ??  It means a lot. even coming from you and not my DD. thank you.  My SIL is teaching them from the 1930s or so. women barefoot and preg. in the kitchen is where they belong and they shouldnt vote or have an opinion . very sad to me.  the 16 yr. old has more pull in the house and decisions then mom does.   she goes along with this.  no respect  at all. I teach them respect with opening doors and such for woman but I focus more on what I do and that is running the house , making the decisions ,even weilding the hammer to fix things and that is something he dont do so they are impressed. I dont mean to interfer with how people raise their kids. I just intend to show them a different way of life.

How do you not :smack your SIL? You must have some very good will power!

That is no way to teach kids, thank goodness they have you granny. I've told my son if he doesn't learn how to do cooking and cleaning he will never find a good girlfriend. It should 50/50 in my book. Both chip in to run the house as equals.

Hello Bert

That is very true. In my grandchildrens case, they have a push over mom and have no idea how strong women can be and have no respect for them. I am here to change their way of thinking .

preaching to the choir with me gal. I'm a firm believer in strong women.

both grandma's whupped me pretty good when I misbehaved!!!

my dad's mom raised three kids on her own

my mom had to deal with me

my wife home schools 6 kids, ages 1.2 to 14.

I know how strong women can be.

Red, she shouldn't want to do much other than hop off to poop, grab a quick bite, and hop back on. Chicken eggs don't need a "cool down" the way that duck eggs do.
Ok. Thanks . I made her get up yesterday. She did stay out 30 minutes I'm guessing. Maybe not that long. I was scared she wouldn't get up to poop and eat if I didn't make her. Her poop was as big as my big dogs poop. I know that's normal when broody. Will most get up by themselves? Hope I didn't screw up by making her get up. I haven't seen her off of them any until I made her get up.

She'll get up on her own, don't worry. She's going to lose weight, so don't worry about that either. It's natural. If she poops in the nest then just gently remove the eggs and add a layer of fresh bedding, then put the eggs back. Easy peasy.

Broodies are very low maintenance.

I have told my folks that... But the best thank you to them was me pulling myself self off my pity party and focusing on making the right changes.. Wasn't easy and I wouldn't have come this far without them.

That is great you pulled your self round and made the right changes. Good on you, a great accomplishment :hugs

yes ma'am bless her.

not just for the fact that she home schools 6 kids, or even the fact that she went through 6 pregnancies and deliveries, but bless her for the fact she has to deal with a 225lb big kid every day, and still love me at the end of it.

LOL its not from lack of wanting to trust. He would old the kids back I am sure. this way they still learn what they need to know. DD home schooled too. til just when they moved here . I insisted they get to school. they are loving it. doing well. One child is behind and I suspect has some problems but overall doing good. they were never taught certain things in history but are learning now.
