True that they don't wear out. My sister has our grandmother's old mixer, probably from the 60s, and it still works great. Sis is really careful with it though, because if she breaks the bowl, there is no replacement.
My hubs and #2son use the mixer more than I do. They made a lemon meringue pie last summer. It was quite a feat! Disappeared very quickly!
