My baby chicks are supposed to arrive tomorrow morning. Have been busy the past two days getting the brooder coop cleaned

bet your excited !!!!   what happened to your hen ?

I have no idea, didn't notice anything until today. Comb turning black, could hardly stand, went to pick her up & she was just bones. I looked her over throughly no obvious signs. I knew she was too far gone I put her out of misery.

I am worried know. I thought maybe it happens with old age.

My dad called today.  We had a nice chat.  Nothing new but he wanted me to see an article in the paper with game cam pics of mtn lions taken just up behind my house. 

My brother called me later, and I told him I talked to dad.  They had also talked, and he told me dad said I didn't say anything about Thanksgiving!!!      Good Lord.  He knows how much I LOVE cooking, now I have tothink about for weeks in advance too?     Well, lo and behold, my brother said he had just got his place cleaned up and he could do Thanksgiving at his house!  e    Woo hoo!  It is the first time in 14 years that I don't have to cook for Thanksgiving!  We do go up to the in laws sometimes, but I just end up cooking in someone else's kitchen, which is even more of a pain.  


I imagine this seem like no bid deal to most of you, but for me, I just got the best early Christmas present!  I don't have to cook!

I don't mind throwing a turkey in the oven, it's all the other stuff and the mountain of dishes. Every year. So much fun. Wee. It's not like I don't see these people all the time!
