Camping sorry to hear that it was cold & damp for your 5K event. As long as it brought in funds for the kids camp you can tolerate a bit. Have you got warmed back up? Oh almost forgot, glad your friend won

Coffee did the trick. Just reveling in a dreary, quiet afternoon with a clean house and interesting conversation.
You wanna come clean mine now :gig

Uh NOPE. By the time I recover from this it'll be time to do it all again.

There are still dishes in the sink and folded laundry on the table, and let's not talk about the junk in the yards. But the floors are clean and I polished the wooden furniture. So, that's clean enough. :weee

It was "clean out the kitchen" day here in preparation for all the yummy food this week -- made the chickens a treat. Found an expired graham crust in the cupboard so I tossed in what was left of a bag of dried meal worms, a handful of cat kibble that had gotten spilled in the feed storage cupboard and a partial jar of applesauce from the refrigerator. They also had a side of old tomatoes and some chopped up pork chop. It was perfect timing because DD had texted me a request for a pie recipe for the "friendsgiving" she and her roomies are hosting tomorrow, so I sent her this picture:

Camping was it me and you discussing putting the silkie and chick together or wishing?

Omg. I just introduced the silkie and baby chick and they're drinking side by side out of the quail waterer. Only one that pecked so far is the chick. It likes the silkies fluff. I'm sitting right here though.

The chick is pecking trying to take the feed out of the silkies mouth. You think I need to get the silkie some help lol.

That is so wonderful! Are they in the house? Keep an eye on them for a while.

I have a BYC friend who has had some amazing little bantams, with some Silkie in them. Older chicks will come around and try to help mother the new chicks. Not every one will be like that, but Silkies in general, are good mammas, and it can start early!

Not me.

Yes they're inside. The baby can't go out for a while. Thank you so much for suggesting that. This I'd wonderful. They will probably be best friends. If all goes right my baby chick won't have to be an only child.
