Yes. Long story though. I will be cooking something for myself. I'm thinking about doing a traditional turkey though! Tippy If you get the hen turkey they are smaller

I'll try and find a 10 or 12 pounder. The cats can have the leftovers.

I pecked the food and water to get the buddy to eat and drink, but she seems to be doing better and so happy with the silkie there. Cutest thing I've ever seen.

I can just picture you now pecking away at that food with your nose..........lol

That's what imprinting is. The chicks brains are wired to copy what they see. The broodies make a special "this is good food!" noise that the little ones respond to also. I've taught chicks what is good to eat by making that noise and tapping my finger like a beak! I taught these guys to eat aphids off some kale. Yummy!!!!

That's wonderful Red, I'm so happy for you

Hi Tippy!  How's your day off?  You cooking for Thanksgiving this year?

I am! I'm not sure what, though.

That way they can get sleepy & take a nap with you after dinner :gig

I'm just curious, will a turkey mate with a chicken?

I imagine they'd try, but not sure that it would be successful. I do know that chicken/guinea crosses happen, but their size and build are more compatible for succesful mating
