Because our power goes down so much we purchased a generator 3 years ago after a spring snow storm dumped over 3 foot of wet heavy snow on us in a 10 hour period. We were without power, landline or cell coverage for 5 days. The whole county was under a state of emergency. After trying to heat with a fireplace, we decided we weren't ever going thru that again.

That worries me so much about all of ya'll up north. Glad to know you have a generator.

Hubby has all the gas cans refueled & the power cords are still attached to the generator from Christmas so we are good to go for a while. All that would need to be done is connect the cords to the generator outlets on the side of our home & our dd apartment. The only thing that makes me a bit worried is our stupid prophane company skipped our auto fill day this month and with 2 places to heat, only 30% left in the tank & coming up on another holiday. I'm afraid we could run low. Hubby going to call and give them a hard time tomorrow.

Its a necessity in our area. Power goes out so often. We do have a wood burning fireplace that we had to use before, but as long as I have prophane for the furnace then the generator runs that.
