Very interesting article! While reading I did remember the "poor" part of it. I guess I'm just not big on labels, especially if they are meant to distinguish race or socioeconomic status. It's the same reason that I call new mamas by name instead of "the baby's mom" or introduce someone as John, Jamie's husband instead of Jamie's husband John.

Identity and self-worth are sacred to me.

I think it's silly. It's a word, and a word can no more describe who or what I am, what I believe or my value or worth, the same can be said for anyone else.

an insult isn't racist. racist is believing that one race is superior to another, and calling someone a bad name, doesn't convey that.

now with that said, I don't use the"n" word....but I love greeting my black friends, " What's happening, cracker?"

both words have lost much of their true derogatory meaning in recent years, just from over use.

and now there are varieties of the "n" word not even alluded to a black person at all.

it's all silliness.

I truly believe the worth of a person should be judged by their actions, ethics, morals, and how they treat those around them, that are different than they themselves are.

one word never has, can't and never will be able to label the character of a race of people.

racial stereotypes aren't racist. more silliness.

to be honest, I find allot of racial stereotypes humorous, not because it's makes me superior, it's just because they are funny. especially if they are true.

good morning all

Camping I wouldn't go with a chicken that has a top knot and thin skull I would think that the top know of feathers would just be to tempting of a "handle: for the kids to grab on to.

I use Hardboiled eggs for a "fake egg" sure has worked well for me. Just remember to mark them so they don't end up in your sale or eating baskets.

IMHO there are no "true native americans" as we all came over to North American either by boat or by walking across the land bridge from Russia to Alaska and then down to the tip of South American.

My kitchen is clean , everything from the weekend of butchering is cleaned and put back where is belongs. I have countertops that are useable and you can walk without tripping over totes

The polish did well last summer. The kids aren't with the chicks without supervision, mine usually. That's why they made both lists. ;)
