Hang in there chickenlayd remember only 4 more month of winter     :hugs     I bet not having a working stove/over doesn't help with the mood either.
The oven is definitely frustrating the h3ll out of me. Tried making a pumpkin pie for my dd boyfriend because he's going thru some serious health stuff right now & I wanted to cheer him up. Only by the grace of God did it turn out. I spent the first 15 mins trying to get the oven up to & stay at 400°. Then the next 50 mins on the floor in front of the oven with a flash light checking the oven temp. It was supposed to be at 350° and I had to keep increasing the oven temp to 495° to have the internal temp reach 350°. Finally it starting reading 350°, but then in about 10 mins the oven temp starting going too high. One moment I was opening the oven to let out the additional heat & changing the oven settings. Spent 50 minutes on the floor making constant adjustments grr... Did I also mention that the dishwasher is not working right anymore & that my 19 year old vacuum has just about crapped out. This housewife is on strike, lol.

Ours did that. It was a little probe that had malfunctioned, about $30 maybe? It worked for awhile and then went out again so we got a new one.

Lisa , I'm glad you and danna is back. Missed y'all. Has anyone heard from newfie lately? Been missing her too. I know enola has her hands full with moving. Glad to see her post though. I worry about all of y'all when y'all aren't on. I'm a worry wart.
I'm a worry wort too Red, you were pretty quiet there yourself for a couple of days. Newfie has probably started her heart rehab. Probably very busy & tired with the physical workout. Granny probably has talked to her recently, so maybe that is where we should ask after her.

Mine has been a piece of crap since day one. That's why hubby doesn't want to hire someone to come fix it. The only problem is coming up with the money for a new one. We're being a bit cautious right now because Hubby's company is going thru some rough times. There is a 3 phase layoff pending. I feel so bad for anyone that will be affected by it. As oil & gas prices crash, its great for us consumers, but for companies that rely on that for a big share of their business. Its killing them & they aren't forcasting changes anytime soon. Unless the company completely folds, hubby doesn't have to worry about the up & coming layoffs. He's the only purchasing agent for steel in the company. But when 911 happened, the company took a huge hit. Employees that made it thru the layoff agreed to a 15% wage decrease until the economy turned around, that took almost 3 years. That hurt us bad & in addition because of the 911 stock market crash a big part of hubbys retirement stocks that were invested in higher risk stocks were lost.

Me too Red :hugs

Wish y'all lived near me. I found hona chicks for $25 each. I'm going to get them. The lady said they're not selling and she's trying to move them. So that's got me a little nervous. But hoping I've got a little more street cred in the local chicken community than she does. :fl
