Nobody wants to hit a kid, but it's dark and those things can fly in all sorts of crazy directions. There might be 30 people on a float all throwing stuff at the same time. Beads and cups, candy and toys. DH got hit with a pack of ramen noodles. The one that hit me was probably aimed for Kane. Sometimes it's a bit of a frenzy.

I like the children's parade the best. It's during the day and all the floats are kids or children's organizations. They throw lots of near things. And no drunk dancing moms.
