Honestly it doesn't seem like there's much difference in starter/grower and flock raiser.

What's the protein in your starter/grower? What I found says to start chicks on 20% and move them to 18% at 10 weeks. Then 16% as layers. Chicks can start at 18%. And I don't think the higher protein would hurt layers? I think I've seen 18% layer feed. And isn't flock raiser 18%?

no not flock raiser, I wanted to try chick food for a change . I dont know whats in it. GS dumped it in the can. purina starter grower though.

really ? kind of funny the chick food is bigger crumbles then flock raiser. . been needing to wet it . Maybe its just the chicks themself then ? They are almost feathered already. 19 days old .

Flock raiser is 20%. So looks like starter/grower won't hurt anyone.
