Do you think the chickens would eat marigold. Usually that is planted to keep critters away, I thought.

mornin Linda.i'm glad you had a good time..my hens won't eat marigolds.i plant them around the coop ever year have yet to see them eat any...

morning danna , linda.. they put marigold extract in the food for yolk . If they dont eat them thats ok too.
Loko, 5 gal. bucket how ? drill holes and buy potting mix ? I do have some .

DH plants tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets,you do have to put drainage holes. i don't know how many he puts.you have to water them alot too.they do good...

Ohhhh I didn't know that!!! I have a knew wrinkle in my brain.

I saw a thing there the drilled a whole at the bottom of the bucket and planted one tomatoe plant on the bottom and one on the top and hung it off the house.

suppose to be 72 and cloudy today.all we need to do is put a door in the run for the silkies and ISA browns.i think they have been in their coop long enough to know where home is.they will be outside for the first time today...

I saw a thing there the drilled a whole at the bottom of the bucket and planted one tomatoe plant on the bottom and one on the top and hung it off the house.

I remember that ! they make the hole in the bottom, fill it with dirt , put the lid on and plant the bottom. not sure how long you have to wait for it to establish then hang it and plant the top !!!!
