Woke up to thunderboomers. Very long drawn out rumblies. I though someone was dragging a bobcat bucket along the pavement. Been raining all day. NO complaint's from me about that we need the moisture and will help the hay crop this summer. And I have mouths to feed now LOL

well I am off NOT saying if or when I will be back on that way you don't all know when to disappear.

I need to get pics of the nanny tomorrow to show Mike and Papa. DH isn't convinced she's bred. She's supposed to be due in May, but her bag is still empty. So I need to see when the bag fills, to know how much time I have.

The lady said when the nanny is ready, she drops. No warning signs. :barnie

Just two bucklings. We think they're a boer-nubian cross. They're about 14 weeks old.

We're going to pull her babies after about three weeks and bottle feed them after that, for camp programming. I may try to milk her a little before she dries up. I'm not ready to commit to milking every day, but I would like to try the milk and make butter from it.

She's never been milked, so she may not even let me.

Edit: the nanny is dwarf nigerian, which (if I remember right) has the highest butterfat than other goat breeds.

Yes camping & it makes great goat cheese.

I've made butter but not cheese. Not sure I'll be up for that this time. It'll be hard summer when we take the kids off.
