Just two bucklings. We think they're a boer-nubian cross. They're about 14 weeks old.

We're going to pull her babies after about three weeks and bottle feed them after that, for camp programming. I may try to milk her a little before she dries up. I'm not ready to commit to milking every day, but I would like to try the milk and make butter from it.

She's never been milked, so she may not even let me.

Edit: the nanny is dwarf nigerian, which (if I remember right) has the highest butterfat than other goat breeds.


If your not gonna milk her or let the kids suckle she will be in danger of mastitis the make something that drys them off but I can't think of what it is

So how would I mimic her weaning them? Milk frequently then gradually decrease?

This is assuming she even let's me...
