They say 95 the first week, but I rarely do. They seem to overheat too quickly. Guess it depends on your style and placement of brooder.

Babies kept soaking their bedding. Not sure what happened this time but the thermo was reading 87 so they were all chilled. I moved them to a bigger box and gave them a food floor to boost them a bit. They have tap shoes.

I'm going to have to watch them better.

could you have a slow seeping leak in the waterer ???

It's a coke bottle with a nipple in the bottom. Possible leak, but I had a dish (with marbles) underneath to catch any drips. I think it was just too many babies squirting too much water. They all seems happy now.

I do remember to drop the temp by 5* every week. Just couldn't remember what they say to start at. SIGH I must be getting old.

well you know how kids love to play in the water and puddles. I guess same thing for feathered children.

ddr. called again, said to call hospital and set an appt for a breathing test for tom. He has already been through this. they put him o2 he stopped it himself. Whats the point ?

for some reason when ever you get a "new doctor" they don't seem to believe anything in the patient's file and must redo all the tests. Personally I think its because they didn't get their "cut" on the first round of tests. The problem is if you don't then I believe they can justify not proscribing the medications. And they call crooks criminals.

6 ft !!  tomatoes on steroids . Store bought ones are not very good.
