Good morning all not sure what BYC's issues are but took me over 10 minutes just to log in this am. You acquire a GF membership mainly to get rid of adds but you still have to endure those adds that have to load up in the log in page.

WOW slow day for posts yesterday, and today looks to be starting no better.

Busy day here. Ground is too soggy to plant so I'm going to pick up toys/trash in the backyard and get ready for the goats to move over. Also getting my NPIP calls in today so I can do better shipping/selling. Lagertha laid her first egg today! The broody is officially finished! :weee

Raining this am & 68*. Chicks are cheeping. One with membrane stuck still hasn t stood. Should i pull on membrane? I m afraid i ll rip belly open

The goats are going to be so happy! Lagertha is great, already done. I still have 4 Seramas glued to empty nests. They are determined little things. It's been months!

Bacitracin will soften the membrane. Just a little smudge. You can wash it off later. I usually just let them stay sticky/gunky unless they figure it out on their own. Eventually the feathers come in. ;) You have enough others that it will stay warm.

I need to go back and see when she hatched. I feel like it's been FOREVER. I know she's brooded them longer than any other hen I've had.

I'm the last one to give advice about this, but was thinking if the legs are stuck by the membrane, maybe you could carefully trim it with cuticle scissors or something, to release the legs.
