Its only 4 o'clock and the second blood has been drawn.....
Quote: Nothing much just a learning moment for me:
"First" blood was a chickens. I cut a feather too close to the skin and it started bleeding. He is fine, held him till the bleeing stopped.
Second blood was my own. long story, but to cut it short a baby gate fell on one of my orpingtons (she is fine now). But as i was looking her over, she tried to fly up and gashed my lower lip. Needless to say, all the chickens are now super stressed and eating some mealworms i gave them i felt so bad.
Now how the hell do i disinfect the cut...
Thats what i did, accidently ate some; that can't be okayantibiotic ointment for the lip
did you cut into a blood feather? you can pull those and the bleeding will stop faster. need some pliers
Quote:
A vet told me about pulling them if a blood feather gets broken. Smaller birds, like our parakeet, will bleed out if you try to stop it any other way.
Tissues in your mouth are some of the fastest healing in the body. Hopefully you'll be back in action soon! (for smooches!)![]()
