I only wanted 3-4 and a single nice small coop for them. I now have 5 coops and won't admit the number of birds.

kiki if you're like the rest of US you'll need a bigger coop. It don't matter how big it is now. I promise it won't be big enough. I have five now. The last one I made it so I could just build on to it when needed. Notice I said , when needed and not ,if needed lol.

Not yet it doesn't.8 chickens doesn't qualify me to be a crazy chicken lady?
Crap!
My friends and family all think I have gone coo coo! I made the mistake of telling them I am going to start a worm farm now too!
If they are eating things other then their mash then they need grit. I have no idea if the sand or whatever may be in the dirt is enough for them. Theres really no way to tell so if you are offering them scrapes, grass, ect. then I would also offer chick grit.
ok ill be back later. I'm heading to the store now...do they need the oyster shells now too or can that wait?

I have them on starter food to i switch them to the grower food now? and can i give them a little corn being this small?
how old are they ? I feed the same food to my whole flock from one day old to ducks. Its called flock raiser by purina. cracked corn after you are sure they are eating chick grit. they are still young and I wouldnt start this early . and remember corn is just a treat, not their main diet.
