Sorry to hear about your computer issues. As somebody who works with entirely to much technology, yes it's a pain in theMorning, Chaos -- I *was* just fine until I went to reply to you when you first posted - then the *@&! laptop decided it wanted to go ahead and update/install windows 10 (mid post, mind you, so it wasn't something I agreed to) -- spent the last three hours fighting with it since the update just to try to get it to actually load all the way through the startup menu, had to uninstall/reinstall, restore to some original settings (thankfully at least the photos and files are still here) and now I'm having to try to remember all the bookmarks and logins I had stored so I can get them all redone since I also had to reinstall the browser I prefer........Just *love* technology sometimes...![]()
True that!
Poor little mite had a bit too much fun yesterday, eh?
Look at you, you busy bee!
I'm just noticing a lot of ya'll live where it snows.
Here I am thinking it's too cold for me to move my babies outside.
(I'm trying to build up enough guts to just move them out)
In TX it may be too hot! Be sure they have access to plenty of water
Chaos
It snows up north. I'm in Houston.
Houston shuts down when it rains!! And it hasnt just been raining here it's been FLOODING...wiping out a lot of people, not enough in my opinion but who am i to say anything..... We would probably all die if it snowed.
(it actually did snow a little a few years back)
I was just outside Dallas at the time.

She will look similar to my EE I posted last night. Never seen the face on yours though, so not sure if she has muffs and beard.I'd really like to know what this EE one is going to look like when she gets big.
I have an idea about the others just not this one.

They can go outside from day one if you have the right set up. The Ca whites will need access to a warm area more than the older chicks, until they feather out.I'm just noticing a lot of ya'll live where it snows.

I'll try for a face pic today.I think the butt is just hiding behind those long wings.
Hi Kiki. Welcome to granny's and the wonderful world of chickens. Pretty sure that is an EE, due to the green legs. Looks like a female so far. Quick info about Easter Eggers, they are the hatchery version of an Ameraucana, but the Ameraucana breeders insist on calling them by a different name because the ones coming from the hatcheries are too far from the breed standard and they don't want anyone getting confused. But it's very confusing because the hatcheries still call them Ameraucanas (or Americanas). True bred ones have blue legs and feet, beards and muffs. pea combs, lay blue eggs, and come in 8 specific color varieties. I have both, and actually prefer the EE to the purebred ones. Better layers and not so flighty.
muffs on cheeks and a beard
buff Ameraucana
her first egg!
EEs can be any color, lay any color egg (green is typical), and sometimes missing muffs and beards.
