For marking chicks I picked up a package of these from walmart. Can either be a one person or two person job putting one on a chicks leg. Just remember to check on them periodically so they don't get to tight.

Yeah, good luck with that.  Is it in writing anywhere about the trees being city's responsibility?  If you find it, make a copy before they change it. 


That's too bad.  They really should have told you.  Routine is easy, change is not.  They should know that, being "professionals."    



Still shaking, huh?  Do you have your emergency kit together?  At least have some water set aside. 

I lived in the Bay Area when Loma Prieta hit.   It was so strong, I felt the waves move the ground up and down.  Luckily, the power stayed on on our side of the bay, and no services interrupted.  I turned on the tv as soon as it passed, and many of the local stations were off the air so I knew it was bad.   Quite a few people were hanging out in restaurants because they couldn't get across the Bay Bridge to get back to SF, and were waiting to hear if and how they could get home.  There were no warning shocks before this.  Out of the blue! 

That was a scary one. I was 120 miles inland.. I felt the the ground moving in waves.. It lasted so long I was sure the Bay Area was all gone into the ocean..

A second legbar hatched, no probs. Well, it got the cap off. Might still be stuck, I'll have to check after lunch. 6 other pips, so ten eggs total have done something. Waiting on movement from 7 others.

My chick are not pipping. Today is hatch day. Wonder why? I have them in lock down so don't dare open the door.
