Have thought about it, but maybe after I get a year under my belt. I also want to be in more shows to see what judges are looking for.

I have 6 red sex links
7 buff orpingtons
6 silver laced wyandottes
7 EE'S
1 barred rock
1 australorp

Glad you sold the ducks. I love them, but you do have to have the right kind of set up to really be able to enjoy them. I should get some muscovies to get those dang mosquitos! Save me a lot of wear and tear. And broken glasses!

pretty good hatch for a change. Helped on with dried membrane on its back. The humidity has read high through the whole thing because some were a few days and some were ready for lock down.

Tough to pick a favorite, like picking which of my 7 children are my favorite, tough to do, I love them all.

Wow, 7 kids! I bet they really like the chickens too!

Shows are a great way to see all the different breeds as they are meant to be. It's all about the shape of the bird to be a good example of it's breed. The coloring comes after, but if the chicken is not the proper shape (type) it will never do well at a show. Most birds that come from the big hatcheries are the right color, but very rarely are they the right shape. I've been to a couple of big shows, but just to look around. Some really beautiful birds, and huge ones too! Much bigger then I ever thought chickens could be.

Any more looking like pure Polish?

yes, there are a few. The first ones I hatched are half grown and They are going to stay that way. LOL They are polish seramas. 6 of them . So far all these others are looking full polish. I have one that looks like the candy corn. maybe more but too early to tell.

Do the Serama crosses have crests? So cute! We had some sort of polish cross chicken when I was a kid. She was barred and her crest looked like a juvenile polish, sort a little fountain of feathers. She was so sweet and friendly. Would sit on your shoulder and help you eat your sandwich! Little Merry Chicken. She was the only one we ever named.

yes they do about a half crest and 3 are gold laced and 3 are silver . One silver is a roo with some comb sticking up through the crest. they are about half the size of the polish.
