It was truly magical. I was an adult before I realized there was no central air or heat. There were window units in two bedrooms and the laundry room. There was a gas heater in the living room, and one in the bathroom. I always slept so well at her house. She had a big wall clock above the piano that would strike the hour and half hour. I have it now, but it was overwound and needs repaired. Three summers ago a staff member brought a quilt that I used for a nap. It smelled just like my grandmas laundry and I cried.
She mailed me a check last year for my birthday, just like always. My aunt told me at Christmas that I was the only one she remembered, so not to tell my cousins. Sometimes I'm just heartbroken that my kids won't get the same magical summers with their grandparents.
thats fact. I also lived with my GM for a while and she was awesome. she taught me how to make the apple jelly that even my mom couldnt make. Then my mom didnt get along with my kids at all. I have heard it skips generations so although your kids may not they have a great mom and I bet their kids get the GM experince.
