Been to the farm twice. The heat hits like a ton of bricks. He just asked if I had a plan. We're supposed to leave tonight, but I might push it til morning.

I just use regular Acv with out the mother haven't had any problem so far and have been using it on chicks for 4 years, and with My luck with chicks that's about 1000 chicks. I have abnormal predators aka dog and killer chickens. WELCOME to Twisted Acres.
What's the difference between with the mother and with out. Don't think I've ever seen the type with the mother.
The ACV is a product of fermentation of apple. This fermentation is made by a large group of Bacteria that make lactic fermentaion.
This microbes are part of the microbiom = trilion of very good bacteria that lives on and in any metazoa= critters that made of more than one cells, including chickens!
This microbiom is very important for the health of the chicken because they produce a lot of much needed vitamins but also because they compete successfully and font let to Pathogens to establish in the digestive tract of the chicken.
The ACV that have the" Mother " is ACV that haven't pasteurized and filtered so its have all the beneficial bacteria.
I make my own ACV, it's cost me only the Appeal price!

It varies. Usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sometimes more, sometimes less. My migraine pills have caffeine in them, but I was out. :/ so I took regular Tylenol, slept in a dark room, and drank lots of water until the worst passed.
And then the coffee finished the job. It wasn't just from lack of caffeine because it came on the night before when I watched tv in the dark like a dummy.- Thread starter

Morning , Raining here. I am supposed to go to town for string for the whip. I think the rain has beautiful timing. LOL I also will break down and buy the corrid. I havent checked this morning if there are any still alive but my understanding is the dose is 1/2 teaspoon per qt. water and I have doubled that so I dont think it will help these chicks anyway. Next time I hatch I will buy the medicated feed. I have never used or needed it before. When we took the cage out to clean it there were maggots under the water dish. Flys are everywhere. I of course, didnt know they were there and the cage had been cleaned but not disinfected.
Twist, you know you dont have zombie chickens. It has to be a hawk or weasel. the higher fence would of confused the hawk making it go for the "harder" game but it will figure the new fencing out. Trim some trees and add a top. I wouldnt worry so much about what is doing it as making the run predator proof. Pain yes, but a job well done and no more worries .
